Teens missing prior to 2009 are located in the Unsolved Missing tab.
While it's a very worrisome and a trying time when a teen goes missing, the good news is that nearly all who are missing, due to running away, are located within a few days to a month.  As parents this can seem like years.  A few tips to help locate your teenager would be:
  • Provide police with all social network sites and usernames that your teen may use. Many are located due to leaving clues behind on their Myspace or Facebook.
  • Always provide the most recent photograph, preferably a school photo.
  • Contact the NCMEC (see below)
  • Never use your cell or home number on missing posters. This can cause you to run in circles from false leads.
  • Always use the police agency as the number on missing posters. They have the ability to trace or record incoming calls. Our agency will design posters and have you pick up in your local print shop for community posting. Do note that police do not hang missing posters. You will want to gather a number of friends/family to assist.
You may contact us at anytime for assistance in helping to reach the media and getting the word out regarding your missing teen.  As an added note,
We will not print nor post date of birth or social security numbers of our missing teens. This leaves them vulnerable to potential identity theft.  Once your teen is safely located, we will delete as much evidence as possible of their previous missing status.  Please know that unfortunately Google and other search engines may retain that information on the internet for many years.  We will assist with making contact with as many media and internet outlets as possible to help remove the information.
