Free Teen Dating Violence Expert Chat

Approximately 10 percent of adolescents nationwide report being the victim of physical violence at the hands of a romantic partner.

February is Teen Dating Violence Awareness and Prevention Month, and NIJ and the Government Innovators Network will host an expert chat to highlight prevention and intervention research on teen dating violence.

Topics of discussion will include:

  • School-based teen dating violence preventive interventions with at-risk youth.

  • The results of health-clinic interventions in reducing teen dating violence, birth control sabotage and sexual coercion.

  • Links between pregnancy and interpersonal violence; ways of improving the lives of pregnant and parenting teens.

  • Exploring ways to prevent teen dating violence and improve the lives of those impacted by teen dating violence.

Panelists include:

  • David A. Wolfe, PhD - RBC Chair in Children's Mental Health; Director, CAMH Centre for Prevention Science; Professor of Psychology & Psychiatry, University of Toronto

As a mother of three, one of which is a special needs young adult, Cynthia has the experience in advocating and helping those who cannot help themselves. Many times obstacles can present themselves when searching for a missing loved one. She can help cross those obstacles by utilizing her advocacy, marketing and internet skills to help bring awareness to the public. There are no fees to use her services.
